In the La Marca Flowers Company we grow cut flowers and our major production concerns Clone Ranunculus. After a long preparation on our part, in mid-August, they get planted in greenhouses, and then begin the flowering cycle in October and finish between April and May. Compared to the traditional Ranunculus, they have a flower with a larger calyx.
They are expensive flowers, but despite what many believe, they have an excellent shelf life. Our advice is to clean the stems well before placing them in pots.
Thanks to their delicate beauty, Ranunculus can be used for various occasions; they are ideal for weddings, in a botanical or elegant and romantic style because they are available at the beginning of spring before many other more classic species that request a waiting period even longer than that of the bride herself! The natural shape of almost concentric circles, although there are varieties with a more or less cluttered and chaotic appearance, is perfect for creating bouquets with a natural and elegant style; they can be used alone, with a single flower or combined with other flowers such as tulips, roses or peonies, or they can be inserted in the centerpiece, given their peculiarity of not emanating perfumes so as not to distract the sense of smell from flavours and tastes of the courses.
For church arrangements you can choose colored Ranunculus, perhaps to combine with candles, of the same colour, or contrast the white with the chosen colour. For example, the use of Ranunculus such as Cyclamen in pink tones, linked to candid companions, such as Niveo or Firenze in white, create a perfect bouquet of a soft and romantic colour.
The flowering of Ranunculus, one can say, is a real jubilation of colours, so much so that the same flower is at the top of the list of the most beautiful ornamental plants which can be grown.
They are excellent for giving elegance to your apartment in spring and for transforming terraces or garden corners into small coloured paradises.
